In a few days' time, we're going to be putting forth a proposal for an exploratory force. People who want to go out into the ship will be required to organize into teams and obtain training in certain areas. One of those areas is, naturally, medicine, but I don't want to require them to get it without checking with someone on the team to see if you've time to train them.
Please note that I would not under any circumstances ask you to devote much of your resources to this. Indeed, quite frankly, if there were some sort of a bottleneck in training that would prevent them from going out in large numbers, I would be quite fine with that.
We'll...be training SEC members and emergency medical technicians anyway. I could make the classes open for anyone who'd like to learn.
I'm not sure how this is going to stop people from sneaking off on their own, though. If they want to go, they're going to go, required training or not.
Well. We're going for something of a carrot-and-stick approach: penalties for those who sneak off without training and supplies. Of course, we won't be able to catch everyone, so it's more a threat than an inevitability, but...
People have an itch to go out and explore. All the warnings in the world won't stop them; that's becoming clear. But only the truly stupid among them are going to decide that even though they could potentially end up in detainment for it, and even though their probability of survival drops exponentially without supplies and someone to watch their back, they're going to go out alone regardless.
I will, with Tyke. Possibly Kirk as well. Might I count on you to be on hand to answer questions about training?
Again, do forgive me; I know your burden of work is heavy, and I don't want to tie you up with something as petty as public affairs. But at the same time, I know no one on the medical team steadier or more level-headed than you are.

It's not a problem.
