Hi, um, Simon. It's Lor. I wanted to apologize for not getting to show you how I heal, I um. Kind of got stuck in my jump. Tube. Thing. And I heard from Bells, is there a good time for me to come by the medical bay?
[ Simon, this man is either the answer to your prayers, or your worst nightmare. At least he is mostly not a psychopath. ]
You Doctor Tam?
[ Things that are not nice to do: act like he doesn't know this is Simon. Things McCoy is doing anyway: that. Doesn't hurt to make sure, though, just in case. ]
Okay so this is totally just a hypothetical question but if like you got an extra spinal cord -- a totally healthy one -- could someone or something here transplant it into a person with a damaged spinal cord. 'Cause that was impossible back home but I dunno, I'm still not completely used to the future-y gizmos and things and machines here. So, uh. Yeah.
[ While River comes over, Jayne pulls out his comm, sends out a quick message -- written, even though he's not so good at it, just so the girl doesn't overhear. ]
your sister is coming over i guess was all upset saying i was gonna get shot
dont rightly know whats going on but if she goes crazy and tries to kill me again you better patch me up cause i didnt do nothing
Hello, Doctor Tam. My name is Lucy Jaggat, and I'd like to speak to you in person.
[She'd been thinking of signing on with medical but there are some things she needs to discuss first, and she's been stalking the network enough to know that he's on medical staff.]
[So newbie here is trying to be a little proactive after hearing Nathan's post and checking out the community message board. She has med skillz man, may as well put them to use.]
Hello? Is this Doctor Tam? If you have a moment, I'd like to speak with you.
Hey, Doc, just wondering if it's any big concern that my old eye injury has been bleeding? Don't know if you remember me but I have this scar from a grenade explosion— [ as if it's really necessary, he leans in a little and gestures at it ] —and right after it happened I had this huge, what do they call it, hemorrhage thing? I forget the word they used. But back then, the whole white of my eye was red, so this isn't as bad, but I just didn't know if it was the kind of thing I ought to have looked at.
[Yes she originally contacted him in regards to joining the team, but in her experience with Doctors, they don't tend to be great with the whole remembering one nurse from the other. Also, there's a lot of people aboard.]
There's something I'd be interested in discussing in the medbay, when you've got a spare minute there. It's isn't terribly urgent.
So I was thinking now would be a really bad time to get sick, huh?
I'm running a general recruitment drive next month, I was hoping you wouldn't mind getting involved, let people know how much experience they need and put a face to a name. All departments seem to be in dire straits, and it can only get worse after the jump. I don't know about you, but we've been feeling the pinch.
